Competition Application Rules

 Application Fee Due February 21st, 2025

Students must study piano with a teacher based in Chesapeake . Space is limited and early applicants will be given preference. 

1st, 2nd, and 3rd Grades

Total awards up to $150
 

Perform from memory, ONE piece with a classical focus. Non-memorized performances will be given feedback, but will not be considered as a contender for the final round.

4th, 5th, and 6th Grades

Total awards up to $300

Perform from memory,

ONE piece with a classical focus. Non-memorized performances will be given feedback, but will not be considered as a contender for the final round.

​

7th, 8th, and 9th Grades

Total awards up to $600

 

Perform from memory,

ONE piece from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionistic, 20th Century, Contemporary eras.

Non-memorized performances will be given feedback, but will not be considered as a contender for the final round.

10th, 11th, and 12th Grades

Total awards up to $1000
